Create a branch

Branches connect users, staff, routers and revenue to the correct location.

Open BranchesSelect Branches from the Infrastructure menu.

Open Infrastructure from the left menu and select Branches.

Select Add Branch and enter a clear name, such as Main Office or North Zone.

Add address and contact information, then save. Use one branch per operational location.

💡Do not create a branch for every MikroTik. Multiple routers can belong to one branch.

Create categories

Categories help organize subscribers without changing their internet service.

☰ Settings → Categories → Add Category

Open Settings, then choose the Categories tab.

Create simple business groups such as Residential, Business, Staff or VIP.

Save the category. You can select it later when creating or editing a subscriber.

💡A category is for reporting and organization. Speed and validity belong in a profile or package.

Define speed, price, validity and network policy before adding users.

PPPoE Profile

Open PPPoE → Profiles. Enter the plan name, download/upload speed, price, validity and optional IP pool.

Hotspot Package

Open Hotspot → Packages. Enter the package name, speed, price, validity, quota and shared-user limit.

Use customer-friendly names such as Home 10 Mbps or Business 30 Mbps.

Confirm speed units and price before saving. Existing users can be moved to another plan later.

Add your MikroTik

☰ Infrastructure → Routers → Add Router

Choose the branch, enter a recognizable router name, and provide its reachable IP address.

Choose Direct IP if the router is publicly reachable. Choose WireGuard, L2TP or SSTP when it is behind NAT.

Save the router, open Setup Commands, and copy the generated RouterOS 6 or RouterOS 7 script.

Open MikroTik Terminal, paste the complete script once, then return to AliRadius and select Test Connection.

⚠️Do not reuse a RADIUS secret from another router. Use the exact secret generated for this NAS.

Create users only after branch, plan and router setup are ready.

PPPoE User

Open PPPoE → PPPoE Users → Add User. Select branch, category and profile; enter username, password, customer details and expiry.

Hotspot User

Open Hotspot → Hotspot Users → Add User. Select branch, category, package and router; enter credentials and optional MAC binding.

💡If an imported user has no NAS assignment, AliRadius can associate their activity with the MikroTik used for their first session.

Test and go live

Verify one test subscriber before moving the full network.

Connect one test PPPoE or Hotspot user through the new MikroTik RADIUS configuration.

Open Online Users and confirm username, NAS, IP address, session time and traffic appear correctly.

Test disconnect, reconnect, speed limit and expiry. Then check the branch revenue and session reports.
